CENTRE DE THÉRAPIES JAPONAISES
After practicing Traditional Japanese Medicine together in Chamonix for several years,
in 2021, my colleague, Valérie Jacquet, and I founded the ÉCOLE DE THÉRAPIES JAPONAISES,
a place dedicated to teaching the best of these time-tested therapeutic modalities to European practitioners.
Now, as a part of this effort, I have organised a section called the CENTRE DE THÉRAPIES JAPONAISES –
Traditional Japanese Therapy DOJO which is devoted to more hands-on, clinically-based TJM training.
As such, it is especially well-suited to practitioners who are already familiar with the concepts underlying these therapies,
but who want more practical training in the actual techniques used by the most seasoned veterans in the field.
When they hear the Japanese word, DOJO 道場, most Europeans immediately think of a martial arts training hall where student hone their skills
in judo, karate or one of the other traditional Japanese fighting arts.
Here in Chamonix, our DOJO is a practice centre for people who want to seriously pursue the “dō” «way or voie » of the Traditional Japanese Healing Arts (TJHA).
It is a place where we hope to pass on the essence of our therapies, and help our students refine the techniques and master the spirit of these Japanese traditions.
THE PHILOSOPHY OF OUR DOJO
We teach you to:
Transform TJHA theory into intuitive wisdom with your gut and the whole of your body/mind
(Not to understand the theory only in your head)
Translate the ancient wisdom of TJHA into real-world clinical treatment modalities
(Not to learn it just as metaphysical theory)
Heal the client as a dynamic Yin-Yang presence
(Not to put the client into an inflexible Five element component box)
Cultivate a direct sense of the Qi behind the protocols
(Not to be caught up only in a superficial variety of techniques)
TRADITIONAL JAPANESE HEALING ARTS
Over the course of its long history, Japan has developed a number of traditional systems, each with its own unique flavor.
These include the Japanese tea ceremony (SadōTHE), flower arrangement (Kadō), calligraphy (Shodō), and martial arts (Budō) such as karate and judo, etc.
It is the same in the field of medicine and health.
The Traditional Japanese Healing Arts (TJHA) have developed into a variety of traditional clinical practices – a set of treatment and healing modalities including Japanese traditional acupuncture, Seitai (Traditional Japanese osteopathy), Shiatsu and Zen.
Mastering the spirit as vibration in this way requires an ever-expanding awareness and cultivation of your deepest inner self.
It is the only way to embody the ancient wisdom found in TJHA in your own body/mind.
Find yourself as you are on the deepest level.
Then, reach out and try to touch your clients on this level, and help them to realize and manifest their own potential as well.
